What are the professions of the future?

"WOW!" This is how I start it today.

Do you like your occupation? Are you still in school thinking about what to choose for your professional career? Looking for new opportunities? Things are changing faster than before, but most of them follow a path to the future, which means anywhere where tecnology is. I´ve asked my students to research about the professions of the future. I did a couple of years ago and now again. I was amazed by then and even more now, noticing how things have changed in only 2-3 years. I found a very nice article about it. It would be nice of you guys to read it.¹ They list the main career fields as follows:

1. Archtecture and Engineering

2. Arts, culture and entertainment

3. Business, management, administration

4. Communications

5. Community and social services

6. Education

7. Science & technology

8. Installation, repair and maintanance

9. Farming, fishing, forestry

10. Government

11. Health and medicine

12. Law and Public policy

13. Sales

In those fields we will find the following professions researched by the students:

• Advisor to creators

• Big data analyst

• Community manager

• Creators and Influencers

• Data detective

• Digital marketing professional

• Environmental engineer

• Geneticist

• Hospital engineer

• Information security

• Personal Memories Curator

• Robotics engineer

• Software developer

• 3D Architect and Engineer

• Walker/Talker

• Waste manager

In another research done by the students that will be shown next week, we will see the current global problems listed by American people and future challenges we may come across by 2050 according to a BBC article. Crossing the information about the future challenges and the professions above, they are very much connected. Challenges such as Genetic Modification of Humans (Geneticist), Lost Cities (Environmental Engineer), The Evolution of Social Media (Creators, Influencers, Digital Marketing Professionals, Information Security), Dwindling Resources (Waste Manager), AI's Dominance in Our Lives (Robotics Engineer) and a More Aged Population, good for us for being able to live longer, but challenging to create a estructure for adaptation and inclusion (Walker/Talker, Personal Memories Curator).

Let's look forward, towards the evolution, innovation, but above all, with empathy, respect and care for anybody and anything.

QUAIS SÃO AS PROFISSÕES DO FUTURO? "UAU!" É assim que eu começo hoje.

Você gosta de sua ocupação? Você ainda está na escola pensando no que escolher para sua carreira profissional? Procurando por novas oportunidades? As coisas estão mudando mais rápido do que antes, mas a maioria segue um caminho para o futuro, o que significa qualquer lugar onde a tecnologia esteja.

Pedi aos meus alunos que pesquisassem sobre as profissões do futuro. Eu fiz alguns anos atrás e agora de novo. Fiquei surpresa naquela época e ainda mais agora, percebendo como as coisas mudaram em apenas 2 à 3 anos.

Eu encontrei um artigo muito bom sobre isso. Seria legal da sua parte ler isso.¹ Eles listam as principais áreas de carreira da seguinte forma:

Em outra pesquisa feita pelos alunos que será mostrada na próxima semana, veremos os problemas globais atuais listados pelos americanos e os desafios futuros que podemos enfrentar até 2050, de acordo com um artigo da BBC. Cruzando as informações sobre os desafios futuros e as profissões acima, eles estão muito conectados. Desafios como a modificação genética de humanos (geneticista), cidades perdidas (engenheiro ambiental), a evolução das mídias sociais (criadores, influenciadores, profissionais de marketing digital, segurança da informação), redução de recursos (gerente de resíduos), domínio de IA ​​em nossas vidas (engenheiro de robótica) e uma população mais idosa, bom para nós que podemos viver mais, mas desafiador para criar uma estrutura de adaptação e inclusão (Walker / Talker, Curador de Memórias Pessoais).

Vamos olhar para a frente, para a evolução, inovação, mas acima de tudo, com empatia, respeito e cuidado por tudo e por todos.
