Happy Women's Day!

Every day we fight for our social, political and economic achievements. We put a lot of effort to receive better treatment and respect, recognition and equality. To represent today's event I would like to share a poem I´ve just came across.

Dear Young Woman – Original Poem

Leon Dear young woman, you are the future Dear young woman, you will shine in the midst of darkness Dear young woman, you will hold the torch that will guide the path to a new and amazing tomorrow Dear young woman, you are the voice that will sing a chorus of love That is the song that we hear You are the footsteps You will never walk alone Two steps; hundreds, thousands, millions, billions together hand in hand You will embrace the struggle; united together as one Coast to coast; ocean to ocean; In the schools The workplace The playing field The homes The limitless places defying gravity Dear Young Woman You are the inventors, the scientists, the athletes, the dreamers, the visionaries and the leaders Dear Young Woman You inspire through compassion Empower with unstoppable force Change through the power of unification Dear Young Woman You will do good Goodness; kindness; hope, perseverance No longer will you look to the stars and only dream You will touch them and smile And look down upon a world you have shaped Dear Young Woman The gift of responsibility is upon you Take hold and instill a new day we can all be proud of Change is gradual, but change is real and now It is your mind Your body Your emotions Your strength Dear Young Woman We are so proud to see the future in your eyes Seeing a world we have yearned and fought for and oh what a beautiful place it will be.

Querida jovem, você brilhará no meio da escuridão

Querida jovem, você vai segurar a tocha que guiará o caminho para um novo e incrível amanhã

Querida jovem, você é a voz que cantará um coro de amor

Essa é a música que ouvimos

Você é os passos

Você nunca andará sozinho

Dois passos; centenas, milhares, milhões, bilhões juntas de mãos dadas

Você vai abraçar a luta; unidas como uma

Costa à costa; oceano a oceano;

Nas escolas

O local de trabalho

O campo de jogo

As casas

Os lugares ilimitados que desafiam a gravidade

Querida jovem

Vocês são as inventoras, as cientistas, as atletas, as sonhadoras, as visionárias e as líderes

Querida jovem

Você inspira através da compaixão

Capacite com força imparável

Mudança através do poder da unificação

Querida jovem

Você vai fazer o bem

Bondade; gentileza; esperança, perseverança

Você não vai mais olhar para as estrelas e apenas sonhar

Você vai tocá-las e sorrir

E olhe para um mundo que você moldou

O dom da responsabilidade está sobre você

Agarre-se e incuta um novo dia do qual todos podemos nos orgulhar

A mudança é gradual, mas a mudança é real e agora

Estamos tão orgulhosos de ver o futuro em seus olhos

Vendo um mundo pelo qual ansiamos e lutamos e oh que lugar bonito será.

"Temos força e mantemos a fé em todo e qualquer dia. Talvez não seja fácil defender nossos direitos e integridade, aspirar ao reconhecimento e à igualdade. No entanto, continuamos lutando por um melhor tratamento e respeito."
